Description:

This is a timed event. The objective of this event will be for the team to remove one blade, identified with an “X” and place it on the table. This will stop the time for the event. You will then have the option to install a replacement blade, which if successful, will result in a 20 second reduction to your overall time. There is no penalty if you do not successfully install the replacement blade.

Procedures:

The pilot reported a bird strike on landing rollout with power lever at idle. You and your team have already borescoped the High-Pressure Compressor (HPC) verifying no damage to the core of the engine. This will require technicians to remove the fan blades in a uniform manner to prevent shingling of the mid span dampeners and reassembling the engine with a replacement fan blade. 

Within the allocated 5 minutes, complete tasks in order:

1. 1. Remove Marked Blade from Fan Hub
   2. Reassemble with replacement blade

Teams are assessed according to the shortest time to accomplish task. A bonus of 10 seconds will be reduced from the base time if reinstallation of the blade is accomplished inside the 5 minute allotted time.
